North Hills holding community pep rally to kick off fall sports season
The North Hills School District will kick of fits fall sports seasons with a pep rally at 7 p.m. on Aug. 20 at Martorelli Stadium.
The 2018 fall varsity girls’ and boys’ soccer, football, golf, girls’ volleyball, cross country, girls’ tennis, slow pitch softball, ice hockey and inline roller hockey teams will be introduced.
The event also will feature performances by the North Hills marching band and cheerleaders.
All youth community sports teams are invited to attend wearing their team jerseys.
Refreshments and North Hills attire and spirit items will be available for purchase from some of the district’s booster and parent organizations.
Admission to the event is free. Fans are asked to bring items to support the North Hills Backpack Initiative and The Pantry, which directly support needy students and families in the district.
Items needed include single-serving and individually packaged food items such as oatmeal, pudding, crackers, fruit cups, single-serving cereals, granola and cereal bars, hearty soups, canned pasta meals, tuna and boxed macaroni and cheese.
Also needed are toiletry items such as deodorant, acne and face-care products, soap and body wash, laundry detergent, lip balm and dental care items.
