Penn Hills School District officials seek a new board treasurer
Penn Hills School District officials are looking for a new board treasurer.
Rob Marra, who was named treasurer in January, stepped down from that position when he was appointed to the school board June 25.
Marra filled the seat left by former finance committee chairman Marlon Ferguson, who resigned June 18. His term expires at the end of 2019.
District Business Manager Eileen Navish was appointed interim treasurer.
Applicants must have a finance and accounting background. The selected candidate does not need to be a Penn Hills resident.
Board President Erin Vecchio said she hopes to have one appointed by the end of July.
A special meeting must be advertised and take place in order to make that happen because there is no regular voting meeting scheduled this month.
The treasurer position was posted on the district's website . Interested parties should send their information to Superintendent Nancy Hines' attention at 260 Aster Street, Penn Hills, PA 15235.
