Verona GetGo site of commercial shoot
Part of Verona helped set the scene for a holiday-themed commercial.
Film crews were at the GetGo gas and convenience store at 800 Allegheny River Blvd. on Oct. 23 to film an ad for the company’s fuelperks! program.
The shop was open during filming. Crew members donning yellow safety vests directed customer traffic.
Matt Lachut, senior director of marketing for Giant Eagle, was on-site.
“This is a beautiful, big, brand new GetGo,” he said. “Between the backdrop of the store and backdrop of Verona, we thought it was a perfect setting for a commercial.”
The filming included a black Ford sedan and two women in blue jeans getting gas at pump No. 3.
Verona Chamber of Commerce President Kevin Ewing said he observed the activity at the gas station, but did not want to disturb the crews.
“It’s always good to have people in Verona,” he said. “It’s one of the newer and better GetGos in the area, and it’s been a great asset to our town.”
As crews filmed, the sky was partly cloudy with the sun poking out every now and then. Temperatures were in the high 50s.
“Thank God we actually got a nice day,” said Ewing. “I bet it looked beautiful. It seemed like everything was going really well.”
It’s unclear when the commercial will air.
