Blood drive scheduled in Penn Hills municipal building
The Penn Hills EMS department will sponsor a blood drive in December.
It will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Penn Hills Municipal Building, 102 Duff Road. Participants are encouraged to show up at the building’s rear entrance at the training room.
All participants will receive a beanie cap from Vitalant, the company administering the blood drive. Vitalant was formerly the Central Blood Bank.
Walk-ins are welcome, but to make an appointment, go to vitalant.org and click on the purple “donate” button and search with the group code C5990036. People can also download the blood bank’s mobile app or call 877-258-4825.
You can also call Diane Fitzhenry, Penn Hills EMS supervisor, at 412-342-1570.
Participants are asked to bring an ID card and to prepare for donations by eating well and staying hydrated.
