Separate shootings overnight in Pittsburgh leave 1 wounded
Pittsburgh police responded to two separate shootings early Saturday morning, including one that left a man in critical condition, authorities said.
Officers responded about 1:30 a.m. to a ShotSpotter notification in the Hill District near Perry Street and Wylie Avenue, said Public Safety spokeswoman Cara Cruz.
Police found no victim at the scene but discovered three parked cars that were struck by the gunfire, she said.
Another ShotSpotter notification sent police to a home on Arabella Street in Knoxville about 4 a.m., Cruz said. Officers found evidence of a shooting on the porch of the home, which was open but empty.
Cruz said shortly after the alert, a man was dropped off at a hospital with two gunshot wounds to the chest. He remains in critical condition.
Police are investigating both incidents.
