Waynesburg man charged with soliciting nudes, fondling son's friend
Waynesburg Police arrested a borough man Monday on charges that he exchanged explicit messages with an underage friend of his son's, then fondled her and exposed himself to her in April, according to charging documents.
Police charged Todd A. Henderson, 41, with aggravated indecent assault of a victim younger than 16, child pornography, statutory sexual assault, and corruption of minors. They arrested him Monday.
A case worker from Greene County Children and Youth Services contacted police in late April about the possible sexual abuse of an underage girl who was in foster care, citing information on her phone, according to the criminal complaint Officer Thomas Ankrom II filed with Magisterial District Judge David Balint.
Police searching her phone found a text conversation between the girl and Henderson in which both talked about not having condoms along with nude photos. In an interview, the girl said she and Henderson, who was her friend's father, had talked about having sex but hadn't acted on it, the complaint said. The girl said she had sent Henderson a topless photo but it was unclear whether he had solicited it from her; police said she was not forthcoming with them about her conversations.
“(She) appeared to minimize her relationship with Henderson and was afraid that speaking with police would jeopardize her friendship with his son,” Ankrom wrote in the complaint.
In another interview June 6, the girl said she and Henderson had met at his home in April and kissed; she also said he had fondled her and removed his pants, exposing himself to her, the complaint said. The girl's age was redacted from court documents.
Police interviewed Henderson on Monday and wrote in the complaint that he admitted to communicating with her through a messaging app, requesting nude photos and touching her inappropriately in April.
Balint arraigned Henderson Monday and set his bail at $100,000; Henderson was unable to post it and remained at the Greene County Prison Tuesday, according to online court records. He did not yet have an attorney listed.
