Cops: 1 dead in Butler shooting; nearby stabbing connected
Police in the City of Butler are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early this morning.
Authorities say a man was shot and killed around 1:30 a.m. along South Wagner Avenue near the intersection of West Cunningham Street, according to Tribune-Review news partners WPXI-TV.
State police also responded to the scene to assist with the investigation.
No information has been released about the identity of the victim or whether anybody has been arrested in connection with the shooting.
But a family member who went to the scene told WPXI that the man who was killed is Adam Selfridge.
The family member told the television station Selfridge went to a store with his wife and got into a confrontation with someone walking by.
A little over a mile away, another man was found suffering from stab wounds in the area of Zeigler Avenue.
Police said the incidents are connected, but did not provide additional details.
The stabbing victim was flown to the hospital by medical helicopter. No information was available about his condition.
