Remote recycling locations in Armstrong to close for the holidays
Recycling locations in Armstrong County will change ahead of the holiday season, organizers have announced.
Changes are being made to make it possible for the clients of the Progressive Workshop of Armstrong County, which partners with the county to staff the recycling centers, to spend time with their families during the holidays.
“We are giving our clients this time off to go home and visit with their families and friends,” Matt Ardeno, PWAC vice president of production and sales, said in a release.
The recycling trailers will be removed from all 11 remote drop-off sites to the county recycling center at the Armsdale Complex in Rayburn Township before Christmas through the first week in January.
Recyclable materials will still be collected.
“All of the trailers will be located at the Recycling Center,” Ardeno said. “You will still be able to go out there and place items in the trailers.”
Those looking to recycle are asked to note the following schedule:
• Dec. 18-22: Recycling trailers at all 11 remote drop-off locations throughout Armstrong County will be pulled from sites.
• Dec. 25-Jan. 1: PWAC and the Recycling Center at 139 Armsdale Road, Kittanning, will be closed for the holiday break.
• Jan. 2-5: Recycling trailers will be returned to all 11 sites.
Recyclables accepted are newspapers, office paper and magazines, corrugated cardboard, aluminum and steel cans, #1 and #2 plastic bottles and jugs, green, clear and brown glass bottles and jars and used motor oil.
