An Apollo man fell asleep on a couch after allegedly breaking into an Armstrong County house late last week, police say.

State police said they responded to a house in the 1200 block of Lincoln Street in Parks Township at 3:37 a.m. Friday.

A trooper said he found a man sleeping on a couch in the living room. He was identified as Daniel Edward Johns, 37.

“He was extremely intoxicated and did not know where he was,” state police said in a press release issued late Monday.

Police found Johns was wanted on an arrest warrant out of Westmoreland County. He was arrested and taken to the Armstrong County Jail, where he was being held in lieu of $20,000 bail.

State police charged Johns with criminal trespass and public drunkenness.

His preliminary hearing before Judge James Andring is scheduled for 1 p.m. June 20.
