Allegheny County Police charge man in Plum shooting
A 21-year-old man has been charged in connection with a shooting Thursday in Plum.
Malik Hawkins, no address given, was arrested without incident, Allegheny County Police said Friday. He was being held in the Allegheny County Jail in Pittsburgh without bail on charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, burglary, weapons violations and recklessly endangering another person.
According to county police, Plum police and paramedics responded to a reported shooting in the 7700 block of Saltsburg Road about 11:30 a.m. Thursday.
They found a 22-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds to his legs. The victim was taken to a local hospital, where county police said he was in stable condition.
County police said they believe Hawkins entered the victim’s home and shot him.
Hawkins is scheduled for a preliminary hearing at 9 a.m. Jan. 23 before District Judge Linda Zucco.
