Noteworthy: Keeys has been named an Institute Scholar by the Washington, D.C.-based Institute for Responsible Citizenship.
Residence: A Temple Hills, Md., native, Keeys is a student at Robert Morris University in Moon.
Family: He is the son of Christopher and Sabrina Keeys.
Education: Keeys is a biomedical engineering major at Robert Morris. He plans to attend medical school and aims to become an orthopedic surgeon.
Background: The institute chooses only 12 of the most talented black male college students each year to participate in its Washington Program, which takes place over two summers and provides internships in a scholar's field of study, a seminar in constitutional and economic principles and an opportunity to mentor high school students in the institute's Youth Scholars Academy.
