Mt. Pleasant Area Junior-Senior High School cancels classes after threat found
The Mt. Pleasant Area Junior-Senior High School was evacuated Wednesday morning after a nonspecific threat was found written inside the building, according to an announcement posted to the district website.
Students left the building and were dismissed as district officials and law enforcement investigated, the announcement said.
An update posted around 11:05 a.m. said that dismissal was complete and students were on their way home.
Evening activities in the district have been canceled.
State police, Mt. Pleasant police and Mt. Pleasant Area School District police are involved in the investigation, Superintendent Timothy Gabauer said.
"We couldn't be more proud of our students, staff and families for their cooperation throughout the notification and dismissal process," Gabauer said.
