GOP should play follow the leader
I have been a member of the Republican Party most of my adult life. I have never been as disgusted as I am now with the leadership of the party. Leaders like Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan have turned their backs on the rank-and-file members with their comments about Donald Trump, who so far is the leading choice to be the Republican presidential candidate.
Every Republican, including McConnell and Ryan, have the right to support the candidate of their choice. But to say they will not support Trump if he wins the nomination is an affront to all members of the party. The fact that they turned their pit bull, perpetual loser Mitt Romney, on Trump is disgraceful behavior from people who are supposed to represent all party members.
What McConnell and Ryan are doing with their announcement of nonsupport of the people's choice is guaranteeing victory for Hillary Clinton and her liberal agenda. Although I will continue to support individual Republican candidates, I will not contribute one more dollar to the national Republican party.
