Joe Biden smiles as he takes a question from a reporter at a campaign event at the William “Hicks” Anderson Community Center in Wilmington, Del. July 28.

President Trump unleashed an American energy revolution. During a speech at the Double Eagle Energy oil rig in Texas July 29, Trump detailed the historic accomplishments of his administration on restoring American energy dominance.

“For the first time in nearly 70 years, we have become a net energy exporter,” he said. “And the United States is now the number one producer of oil and natural gas on the face of the Earth.”

Trump’s pro-growth policies are ensuring domestic energy prices remain low and are improving the quality of life for all Americans, especially Pennsylvanians. In Pennsylvania, we’ve directly benefited from those policies as one of the major energy producing states in the country. Thanks to Trump, Pennsylvania is poised to become the nation’s largest natural gas producer.

It’s no secret that Joe Biden’s candidacy poses a dire and immediate threat to thousands of Pennsylvania workers and businesses in the energy sector.

Biden gave his own speech a few weeks ago detailing his plans that will destroy the American energy industry. His plan will eliminate oil, gas and coal from the United States power grid by 2035, killing more than 10 million family-sustaining American jobs supported by the energy industry. And how much will this plan cost exactly? Prior estimates show eliminating oil, gas, and coal from the U.S. energy grid would cost anywhere from $4.5 trillion to $5.7 trillion, with an average cost of $35,000 per household.

What Biden and his radical allies also won’t tell you is that switching to entirely green energy will not be seamless. Delivering prepared remarks to satisfy his extreme left-wing base does not satisfy the millions of families who heat their homes, fuel their vehicles and support their children from America’s oil, natural gas and coal industries.

His speech was not the first time he’s shared his radical plans to end American energy dominance. Back in March, Biden spoke bluntly at the last Democratic debate when he said there will be “no more and no new fracking” in his administration. A Biden fracking ban would absolutely devastate Pennsylvania to the tune of 609,000 jobs killed and $261 billion erased out of the state’s economy.

Biden is committed to restarting the war on American energy and the proud men and women who work in this critical sector of our economy. As a result, America will once again be forced to rely on foreign adversaries who hate us for energy. Countries like China, Russia and Venezuela will win while Americans lose. It seems Biden doesn’t care about American energy workers or putting America first, and that his only concern is appeasing the radical left.
