Pelosi, Schumer rebuttal sparks 'angry parents' memes on Twitter
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif, and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., rebuttal to President Donald Trump’s address from the Oval Office drew lots sparked lots on comments and memes on Twitter Tuesday night.
The top Democrats said Trump “has chosen fear” in his drive to build a southern border wall and called on him to reopen the government shuttered because of the standoff over his demand for money for the barrier.
The pair stood side-by-side in a show of unity, but the set-up turned them into an instant memes ranging from angry parents to movie villains to the couple in “American Gothic.”
Many saw Pelosi and Schumer as angry parents who maybe wondered where you were last night or hoped you could do better at school.

User @DanLuke saw them as James Bond movie villains.
Yikes. I like Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi but they gotta work on the whole "not looking like villains from the next bond movie" thing next time. pic.twitter.com/Uen5rgZLH9— DAN LUKE (@DanLuke) January 9, 2019
