Paced by QB's epic half, St. Vincent rolls past Thiel
Quarterback Tyler Donahue had 435 yards of offense in the first half, then sat out the second half of St. Vincent's 65-14 victory over Thiel on Saturday.
Donahue went 8 for 14 for 165 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 270 yards and an 82-yard touchdown on 11 carries for St. Vincent (3-2, 2-1 Presidents' Athletic Conference). Damon Black had three catches for 117 yards, including a 93-yard touchdown. Thiel (1-4, 0-3) allowed four sacks and committed six turnovers.
Westminster 26, Carnegie Mellon 16 — The Titans outgained the Tartans, 486-197, in the PAC contest. Westminster (3-2, 2-1) held Division III rushing leader Sam Benger to 86 yards on 23 carries. He scored on a 9-yard run for Carnegie Mellon (1-3, 1-2). The Titans' Dominique McKinley had 113 yards on 23 carries.
Thomas More 38, Washington & Jefferson 20 — Presidents quarterback Pete Coughlin passed for 360 yards on a school record-tying 58 attempts but threw four interceptions. Daniel Lis had 11 receptions for 155 yards, and Jesse Zubik had seven catches for 115 yards and a touchdown for W&J (3-1, 1-1 PAC). C.T. Terrant had 37 carries for 193 yards and two touchdowns for Thomas More (5-0, 3-0).
Waynesburg 35, Grove City 31 — Jerry Lawman scored on a 4-yard run with 35 seconds left as the Yellowjackets prevailed. Lawman had 148 yards and three touchdowns on 24 carries for Waynesburg (2-3, 1-2 PAC). Matt Pennypacker passed for 171 yards and rushed for 55 for Grove City (0-4, 0-2).
Oberlin 48, Allegheny 9 — Lucas Poggiali passed for 506 yards and four touchdowns, and Oberlin (2-3, 2-2 North Coast Athletic Conference) denied the Gators their first victory. Tyler Smith had six catches for 117 yards and a touchdown for Allegheny (0-5, 0-2).

Duquesne 27, Cent. Connecticut St. 10 — Klartel Claridy rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns, Rafiq Douglas ran for another score, and the Dukes won their Northeast Conference opener. The Dukes (3-2, 1-0) had 524 total yards to 314 for the Blue Devils (1-4, 0-1). Dillon Buechel passed for 323 yards.
Robert Morris 9, Wagner 6 — Connor Shennan kicked three field goals, including the 19-yard game-winner with 24 seconds remaining, to lead the Colonials. Quarterback Tyler Brown had 132 total yards for Robert Morris (2-3, 1-0 NEC). Matthias McKinnon ran for 139 yards to lead the Seahawks (0-4, 0-1).
St. Francis (Pa.) 58, Tennessee St. 9 — Robert Miller and Sean Orsini returned interceptions for touchdowns in the first half for the Red Flash. Lorenzo Jerome returned the opening kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown for St. Francis (2-2) Tennessee St. (0-5) gained 185 total yards.
Indiana (Pa.) 42, Edinboro 21 — Chris Temple rushed for 241 yards and a school-record six touchdowns for the Crimson Hawks. Temple scored on runs of 22, 6, 6, 8, 1 and 67 for Indiana (3-1, 2-0 PSAC West). Jake Sisson completed 15-of-26 attempts for 147 yards and a touchdown for the Fighting Scots (0-5, 0-2).
Clarion 41, Mercyhurst 27 — Connor Simmons was 26 of 33 for 433 yards and three touchdowns for the Golden Eagles. Kevin Genevro had four receptions for 103 yards and a touchdown for Clarion (5-0, 2-0 PSAC West). Brandon Brown-Dukes rushed for 100 yards, and Brendon Boylan passed for 141 yards and three touchdowns for Mercyhurst (3-2, 0-2).
Slippery Rock 41, Gannon 14 — The Rock outscored the Golden Knights, 27-0, in the second half. Shamar Greene rushed for 100 yards and three touchdowns for Slippery Rock (4-1, 1-1 PSAC West). The Rock had seven sacks and forced five turnovers. Brock Jones rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown for Gannon (3-2, 0-2).
