Jake Guentzel, Penguins prospects set for Minnesota summer league
Penguins fans seeking a summer hockey fix can watch winger Jake Guentzel and prospects Teddy Blueger and Clayton Phillips in a Minnesota summer hockey league.
Every Wednesday night through Aug. 22, Da Beauty League will live stream a triple-header on its website, dabeautyleague.com.
Roster change frequently, but on Wednesday night, Guentzel was slated to play for Team Tradition, Blueger for Team Walser and Phillips for Team RBC. The league, which features dozens of pro players with Minnesota ties, has been around since 2015, with games being played in Edina, Minn.
Guentzel, 23, was born in Nebraska but grew up in Woodbury, Minn.
Blueger, a 23-year-old Latvian with two AHL seasons under his belt, went to school at Minnesota-Mankato.
Phillips, an 18-year-old defenseman taken in the third round of the 2017 draft, is an Edina native about to begin his sophomore year at the University of Minnesota.
