Penguins announce training camp roster, schedule

The Penguins announced the schedule and roster for training camp, which opens Friday morning at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry.

All training camp practices are open to the public with free admission.

All 56 players on the camp roster are signed to NHL or AHL deals or are unsigned draft picks. No players were invited as camp tryouts.

The schedule is the same for the first three days of camp – Friday, Saturday and Sunday – with practice sessions starting at 9 a.m. and running through 1:30 p.m. and a scrimmage set for 10 a.m. An intrasquad scrimmage championship game is set for 11 a.m. Monday.

The Penguins will play road exhibition games on Tuesday, Sept. 18 at Buffalo, Wednesday, Sept. 19 at Detroit and Friday, Sept. 28 at Columbus. They’ll play home exhibition games Saturday Sept. 22 against Columbus, Sunday, Sept. 23 against Detroit and Wednesday, Sept. 26 against Buffalo.

The regular-season opener is Oct. 4 against Washington at home.
