Longtime Steelers PA announcer Randy Cosgrove dies
Longtime Pittsburgh Steelers public address announcer and high school athletic director Randy Cosgrove has died, KDKA reported.
Cosgrove was the PA man for the Steelers for 15 years before resigning in 2012, passing the torch to KDKA Radio’s Larry Richert.
He also was the athletic director at Ambridge for 14 years before leaving in 2012. He was hired as Bishop Canevin’s athletic director in February. He was a former sports information director at Robert Morris and athletic director at North Hills.
“The Bishop Canevin community is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Randy Cosgrove,” said Mike Joyce, principal at Bishop Canevin. “Although a Crusader for a short time, Randy was knowledgeable, well respected and extremely dedicated to our school. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.”
Cosgrove was a Plum graduate and member of the district’s hall of fame.
