Ryan Switzer, Morgan Burnett practice for Steelers; Marcus Gilbert, Anthony Chickillo do not
Slot receiver Ryan Switzer practiced fully Wednesday, three days after he entered concussion protocol during the Pittsburgh Steelers’ loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. Veteran safety Morgan Burnett also was listed as a full practice participant after he missed Sunday’s game because of a back injury.
That’s an early indication each will be available Sunday. The same goes for long snapper Kameron Canaday, who suffered an ankle injury against the Chargers, and fullback Roosevelt Nix, who is listed on the injury report with a shoulder injury.
Switzer was subjected to a hard hit from the Chargers’ Jatavis Brown in the fourth quarter Sunday, a hit that drew an unnecessary roughness penalty.
Among those who did not take part in practice were outside linebacker Anthony Chickillo and tackle Marcus Gilbert. Gilbert has missed the past six games because of a knee ailment and Chickillo suffered an ankle injury Sunday.
Three veterans did not practice because coach Mike Tomlin gave them the day off: Joe Haden, Maurkice Pouncey and Antonio Brown.
