Pittsburgh Police issue warrant in St. Clair Village shooting case
Pittsburgh Police have issued a warrant for a man they believe is responsible for the Saturday shooting death of a woman in St. Clair Village housing complex.
Police said Charles Cabiness shot Monica Gay in the forehead while she was visiting her sister at the complex. He is described as black, 5 foot 7 and 165 pounds, with long braids and possibly a goatee. Police said he he recently lived in California Kirkbride and St. Clair, police said.
Police described Cabiness as armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call Pittsburgh Police at 412-232-7800. Callers can remain anonymous.
Police said Gay was shot while she was in the front yard of a home in the 700 block of Cresswell Street. Someone called 911 at 11:41 a.m. Saturday, and paramedics found Gay alive and lying in the yard. She was taken to UPMC Mercy, Uptown, where she died.
