Public water service interruption
Customers of The North Fayette County Municipal Authority located on Works Hill, Laurel Mall, Route 119 from Cavert Wire to Ranch Road, (including Penn State, Dunbar School, West Virginia Career School, NuMetrics, Technology Park and Ray's Lake Road will have an interruption of their public water supply on from 9 to 11 a.m. April 20. This will permit the authority's contractor to perform some maintenance items and to upgrade the electrical controls of the booster station at the Industrial Park along Mount Braddock Road.
Customers should store water prior to 9 a.m. for use during the interruption period. Discolored and cloudy water may occur on Tuesday after the water is restored and probably into Wednesday. The authority asks that customers not do any laundry on Tuesday after the shutdown, if possible, and to check their tap water before doing any laundry on Wednesday. If you do have some discolored water let the tap water run for a few minutes. This will eliminate the discolored water that may have reached the service line. Cloudy water indicates that there is a mixture of air in the water and will dissipate after being drawn.
Any questions or special concerns should be directed to the authority at 724-626-1211 or 724-438-7361.
Carnegie Free Library of Connellsville will reopen its doors today. The library was closed from April 12 to 17 due to building changes for the installation of an elevator. Although the library will reopen, installation is not yet complete. Julie Allen, director of the library, asks the public's patience and understanding during this inconvenience.
