County Line Brethren continues revival
The County Line Church of the Brethren in Champion continues its fall revival on Sunday with the Rev. Eric Ritenour and Sept. 28 with the Rev. Judy Firestone. There will be special music each night and services begin at 7:30 p.m.
Come out and enjoy country and gospel music tonight at the Acme Community Center from 7 to 10 p.m. The McDonalds, The Country Drifters and The New Inspirations will be featured. There will be a benefit auction at 6 p.m. Sept. 25 at the Acme Community Center. George Hare will be the auctioneer. Refreshments will be available. The event is sponsored by the Donegal Christian Missionary Alliance Church youth. Everyone is welcome.

The Springfield Township Ladies Auxiliary will make and sell apple dumplings at the Mill Run fire hall Oct. 7. The cost is $1.50 each or $8 for half a dozen. Please place advanced orders by calling 724-455-2370 before Oct. 3. Limited quantities will be available on the day of the sale. You can pick your orders up at the fire hall between 4 and 6 p.m. Oct. 7.
The Indian Creek Valley Lions Club will hold its annual flea market this year from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 11 and 12. There will be buckwheat cakes, sandwiches and lots of crafts and flea market items to enjoy. For flea market table reservations, call Cathy Baronie at 724-455-7641.
A correction from last week's column: The American Legion Post 941 Ladies Auxiliary held a blood drive on Aug. 21. They collected 59 pints of blood and would like to thank all those that came to give. It was very much appreciated and was badly needed. Volunteers for the blood drive were Garnet Shaffer, Linda McGinley, Violet Steel, Patty Pospisil, Sally Gales, Dorothy Peterson and Chub Shaulis. Stonee Ridge will perform from 7 to 10 p.m. Sept. 26 at an "All Ages" show at the Westmoreland fairgrounds indoor arena. It is a benefit show for the Westmoreland 4-H. Cost is $5 and all money raised goes directly to the 4-H Club. On Sept. 27 the band will be at Seven Springs for the opening of Autumn Fest at the "Country Stage" area. Times of performances are from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Come up to the mountain for a great weekend! For more information, call 724-547-8597.

= It is that time of the year when Champion Christian School students will be coming around asking for your help for their annual hike and bike to be held Saturday. It is a great opportunity for students to help raise money for the center and have a great time on the local bike trails and parks!
= There will be a fall work day on Oct. 11 at Champion Christian School. Please mark this date on your calendars to come and spend some time sharing your elbow grease with them! They will have crews working at all three facilities (Donegal, Indian Head and the maintenance garage) with a focus on repairs, preparing for winter and upgrades. You do not have to have skills to be there, just a willing spirit! They need lots of hands and feet as well as people who have specific skills. E-mail email@example.com if you are able to help.
