East makes clean sweep

The Connellsville Junior High East varsity and junior varsity volleyball teams swept Bentworth Middle School last week.

In varsity action, East picked up a 2-0 win with game scores of 15-2 and 15-1. Liz Nicholson tallied 11 service points, with Brittany Guariglia, Ashleigh Tikey and Brandee Leighty all getting five.

East's junior varsity squad earned a 15-3, 15-12 victory. Amy Zevoteck notched 12 service points, and Katie Sleasman had nine. Samantha Snyder served up six points.

East will visit Charleroi Junior High at 4 p.m. today.
