Thieves hit dealerships
Thieves hit dealerships for wheels, tires
Thieves at two area car dealerships apparently weren't interested in stealing a whole car, just the wheels and tires.
Police said Curly Moore Chevolet near Rural Valley and Charapp Dodge in Kittanning both reported that a vehicle in each of their lots had been jacked up and placed on cinder blocks so thieves could steal the wheels and tires from them.
A yellow Chevolet Cavalier at Curly Moore was the first target, according to police, who said its wheels and tires were taken between 1 a.m. Sunday and 7:50 a.m. Monday. The goods were valued at more than $2,600, according to police.
A similar incident occurred at Charapp Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge between 9:40 p.m. Wednesday and 7:15 a.m. Thursday, police said. That theft was from a 2003 Dodge Dakota Truck, police said. The goods taken there were valued at about $2,400
