Road repair referendum to be discussed
A plan for Moon to borrow $10.3 million for roadway improvements throughout the township will be discussed at an upcoming town hall meeting.
The meeting will be at 7 p.m. Oct. 25 in the municipal building auditorium, 1000 Beaver Grade Road.
The referendum on the Nov. 2 ballot will ask voters to approve borrowing the money to pay for traffic signals, turning lanes and other improvements to a dozen township roads and intersections.
Moon assistant manager Jodi Noble said township officials will provide information about the projects at the meeting and answer questions.
"We want to give the residents of the township an opportunity before Election Day to ask their questions and to understand the issue," supervisors Chairman Alex Ropelewski said.
He said he does not yet know what impact the borrowing will have on the township's tax rate, but that officials will have it by the time of the meeting.
