Man jailed after high-speed chase
A Pittsburgh man is in the Allegheny County Jail after leading police on a high-speed chase through two counties Sunday night.
Donald William Majewski, 27, was northbound on Route 51 in Rostraver Township, Westmoreland County, when state police troopers from the Belle Vernon barracks attempted to stop him for speeding about 8:50 p.m., police said.
Majewski fled north on Route 51 into Forward Township, Allegheny County, with police pursuing. Speeds reached 110 miles per hour during the chase, police said.
Majewski rammed the rear of a patrol vehicle driven by Trooper Michael Aultz, police allege, before being stopped.
The vehicle Majewski was driving had been reported stolen out of Pittsburgh, police said.
Majewski was charged with receiving stolen property, aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and fleeing or attempting to elude police.
He was arraigned in Allegheny County Night Court and was sent to the Allegheny County Jail in lieu of $75,000 straight bail.
