Barack Obama is designer wrapping paper covering a re-gifted toaster.
Of course, he's also America's next president -- with or without V.P. Hillary ("For Obama, nomination is historic," June 4 and PghTrib.com).
Indeed, the Fresh Prince of Hot Air doesn't need Hill and he shouldn't want Bill. Hey, this cool cat just snookered the invincible Clinton machine. You really think he needs help beating a Republican candidate despised by most conservatives?
Besides, there are far more appealing females who could win back a "female block" that supposedly isn't -- but certainly is -- voting for gender. Just like that "black vote" that isn't voting for race. And that "young block" that isn't voting for youth.
They're all aboard the shiny, new Change Train, the one that rides the same old rails.
But who cares• This man speaks so well, we tell ourselves that Obama's flavor of government expansion, control and taxation is somehow different than Hillary's, John McCain's or even George Bush's.
In fact, it's not. In fact, the greatest hindrance to an American's ability to meet life's economic challenges is the growth, cost and waste of federal government. In fact, President Obama promises more of the same.
Until the Libertarians mount a true challenge to today's openly socialist candidates, I'm writing-in John Adams. He's only dead to those who vote for dependence.
