Candace Futrell scored 16 points to lead host Duquesne (8-8, 3-2) over Massachusetts 60-47 in an Atlantic 10 matchup. Oxana Shetko, Shiri Sharon and Nikolina Pender had 10 points apiece for Duquesne. Jennifer Butler led Massachusetts with 12 points. She also grabbed a Palumbo Center record 21 rebounds. Duquesne jumped to an early 14-9 lead, but Massachusetts managed to tie the score, 30-30 at halftime.
Duquesne used a 15-4 second half. Massachusetts got to within three, 48-45 with 5:10 to play before the Dukes closed out the game with a 12-2 run at the end of the second half. Massachusetts shot 27 percent from the field for the game.
Both teams had an off night from the field, as Juniata shot 22 for 80 (28 percent) from the field and Penn State Altoona shot 24 for 66 (36 percent).
Jillian Klinar scored 19 points in a losing effort for Penn State Altoona (7-4).
Josh Morgan scored a game-high 24 points, including 11 of 13 foul shots to lead Gannon (15-1, 7-1) over Wayne State, 84-78, in a GLIAC matchup on Thursday. A. J. Parker scored 22 points as a reserve for Wayne State (11-6, 6-2). Gannon shot 49 percent from the field and made 75 percent from 3-point range.
