  • The skinny: Cleveland State will be looking to provide coach Rollie Massimino with his 500th career victory. The Vikings are coming off a 90-53 victory over Prairie View, as Gosley posted his first career double-double with a career-high 18 points and 10 rebounds. Duquesne, coming off a 78-63 loss to Pitt in the annual City Game on Saturday at Mellon Arena, plays the first of three games in the next five days. The Dukes won the only meeting between these two teams, 106-60 in 1971.

  • Key matchup: The backcourts. Cleveland State's three-guard offense has high-scoring potential, with Harris and Dixon averaging 17.8 points apiece.

  • Worth noting: Duquesne expects to hear from the NCAA today regarding the eligibility of 6-foot-10 freshman center Simplice Njoya, who has missed the past three games. Njoya, who started the first five games for the Dukes, has been withheld from the lineup while the NCAA investigated potential violations prior to Njoya's signing with Duquesne. Njoya originally signed with UNLV, but was released from his letter of intent. ... Duquesne sophomore forward Jon Pawlak has scored 19 points in the past two games, including a career-high 11 against Pitt. ... Cleveland State was picked to finish third in the Horizon League (formerly known as the Midwestern Collegiate Conference) in a pre-season poll of conference coaches.
