Expressway work will cause Route 136 changes
The stoppages likely will last up to 20 minutes at a time and will occur on weekdays. No detour will be posted.
Delays will occur between 8:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. to ensure Ringgold school bus runs will not be interrupted, said Joe Agnello Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission spokesman..
This will be the second time this year that expressway construction will impact routes used by Ringgold School District student transportation vehicles.
Route 88 was closed down just south of Finleyville for about two months so crews could construct a 250-foot bridge that will carry the expressway over Route 88.
Route 88 was reopened Feb. 5.
The dual bridges in Carroll Township were included in a $43.1 million construction contract awarded to Mashuda Corp. of Cranberry Township.
Mashuda's contract also includes construction of the Mon/Fayette Expressway's interchange at Route 136 and construction of a connector road between Ridge Road and Route 136. The latter was designed to re-establish east-west access lost when Ridge Road was severed just south of the bridge construction site.
