Auto dealers held for court on fraud charges
Rodney A. Heasley, 46 and his wife, Teresa Jane Heasley, 42, of Coral waived charges Tuesday before District Justice Jay Young.
Teresa is charged with 77 counts including with tampering with public records, false application for title and forged documents.
Rodney is charged with 28 counts of theft by failure to make disposition of funds, and 154 counts each of tampering with public records, forging documents, unsworn falsification and false application.
The business operated in Kittanning for a little more than three years, according to state police.
The alleged incidents happened from April, 1999 through Sept. 12, state police said. Since the creditors didn't get the money, the people that bought the cars couldn't get the title to the vehicle.
Victims include Manheim Auto Financial Services of Route 19, Cranberry; Ford Motor Credit of Holiday Drive, Pittsburgh, and Coastal Credit of Berkshire Center, Greensburg.
Both remain free on a recognizance bond.
