Former “16 & Pregnant” TV personality Whitney Purvis is seen in a police booking photo after being arrested for felony involuntary manslaughter involving a fatal overdose July 7, 2025, in Rome, Ga.

“16 and Pregnant” star Whitney Purvis has been arrested and is being held in police custody for felony involuntary manslaughter involving the fatal overdose of chef John Mark Harris.

According to records, sheriff’s deputies nabbed the former reality star in Floyd County, Ga., on Monday. She was charged for intentionally distributing a drug called Tranq — a mix of Fentanyl and the animal tranquilizer Xylazine.

Authorities said the Tranq, known as a rising “zombie drug” in New York City, caused the victim to suffer a toxic overdose.

Harris died Feb. 17 at his residence in Rome, Ga. He was 37.

Purvis was also charged with possession with intent to distribute, TMZ reported.

The arrest follows the death of the MTV alum’s 16-year-old son, Weston Gosa, who died over a month ago, reportedly of natural causes.

Announcing the passing on social media June 2, Purvis wrote: “This is so hard to write. My beautiful son, Weston has passed away. He was only 16 years old. Life is so cruel and unfair. I just (don’t) understand. Oh my baby is gone and I don’t know what to do with myself.”

Weeks later, the problem-prone 33-year-old took to Facebook to reveal she was allegedly blocked from attending the funeral with staffers telling her she was “not on the list.”

Purvis also raised questions about the circumstances surrounding the teen’s death.

She claimed that her ex — who had custody of their two sons, Weston Jr. and his little brother, River — purchased five cars in recent months “but couldn’t pay for medical insurance.”
