Rocker Bret Michaels posted a message to his fans on Sunday that his father Wally Sychak had died.
On his website, as well as his social media pages, the Poison frontman posted: “This morning my Dad passed away. He was a great guy and loved by all.”
He described his father as “a veteran who loved this country, people, family, golf, betting on them horses, a cold beer and long drives.”
Michaels also posted a tribute with photos of his father.
Last week, an update on Michaels’ site said his father had suffered cardiac arrest and was being kept alive by life support.
Sychak got to see his son perform one last time on July 27, when Michaels played at the Spyglass Ridge Winery in Sunbury.
“I want everyone to know my dad is here with us tonight for this party in Sunbury,” Michaels told the crowd at Spyglass, according to The Daily Item. “I couldn’t be happier.”
Sychak stood by the stage and waved his hat to the crowd, according to the site.
Michaels, who was born in Butler and grew up in Mechanicsburg, is on a solo tour and will make a stop at The Palace in Greensburg on Nov. 1.
