Drake gave an unusual shout out after receiving honors at the Billboard Music Awards on Wednesday night.
The rapper was thinking of “Game of Thrones’” most-recent episode while delivering his acceptance speech for Top Billboard 200 Album, “Scorpion.”
His response started with the par-for-the-course, but still earnest, acknowledgement of those who’ve assisted him on production of the album and gotten him to this point.
“Thank you to everybody who gave me their time, their energy, stayed away from their family and friends while we were trying to complete this. I always had a dream of doing a double album, and I finally did it, so now I’ll never do it again,” the Canadian-born performer said.
“I need a glass of champagne,” the self-proclaimed “Champagne Papi” joked.
In conclusion: “Shout out to Arya Stark for putting in that work last week. Hey!” as he flashed a smile and spun around to exit the stage.
Meanwhile, the crowd roared.
One can only imagine what actress Maisie Williams’ reaction was, had she seen the heart-throb’s shout-out.
Williams plays Arya Stark on the HBO series.
Spoiler Alert, but not really: She pulls off a pretty heroic deed during the highly-anticipated “The Long Night” episode in the final season of GOT.
Drake picked up top artist — besting Cardi B, Ariana Grande, Post Malone and Travis Scott.
He walked into MGM Grand Garden Arena with 17 nominations. In addition to winning for top album, he won top male artist, the Associated Press reported.
