“The Joe Rogan Experience” will become available on Spotify globally starting on Sept. 1, and it will become an exclusive shortly thereafter.
Rogan, a commedian and mixed martial arts color commentator, was known earlier as a host of “Fear Factor” and a role in sitcom “Newsradio.”
The podcast, which started in 2009, was labeled independent and video versions are streamed on Rogan’s YouTube channel, which has more than 8.4 million subscribers.
Rogan has mentioned on the podcast that it reaches about 190 million downloads a month and is routinely featured among the top podcasts on Apple’s charts.
A musician would need to generate 23 billion streams on Spotify to earn what they're paying Joe Rogan for his podcast rights (assuming a typical $.00437 payout per stream). In other words, Spotify values Rogan more than any musician in the history of the world. Sound fair to you? pic.twitter.com/zvMdY3mIQA
