Known for her dry observations about life and her clever wit, comedian Paula Poundstone will bring her stand-up routine to Pittsburgh with a 2020 appearance at the Carnegie of Homestead Music Hall.

A cat mom of 14, Poundstone hosts the Maximum Fun podcast, “Nobody Listens to Paula Poundstone,” described as a “comedy field guide to life,” and is a panelist on National Public Radio’s “Wait, Wait … Don’t tell Me!”

Poundstone is the first woman to have hosted the White House Correspondents’ Dinner and her credits include appearances on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” “Last Call with Carson Daly,” and “Late Show with David Letterman.”

Her second book, “The Totally Unscientific Study of the Search for Human Happiness,” was released in 2017.

Kirkus Reviews calls the book, “A deeply revealing memoir in which the pathos doesn’t kill the humor — delivers more than it promises.”

Debuting at number one on the Amazon Bestsellers List in humor, the audiobook was a 2018 Audio Book of the Year finalist and the book was a Thurber Prize for American Humor semifinalist.

Presale tickets for the April 25 show are available at 10 a.m. July 25 with the passcode “Musichall.” Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. July 26. Limited Gold Circle seats will be available for $49, with remaining tickets selling for $29 and $39.
