Editor’s note: Due to coronavirus concerns this event has been postponed. New dates will be announced.

The Pittsburgh Creative Arts Festival will return March 20-22 to the DoubleTree by Hilton, Green Tree, 500 Mansfield Ave.

The festival features classes, demonstrations, exhibitions, a marketplace, a creative open studio and a maker space, according to its organizers.

Those attending can try out new techniques, see demos and shop. Class registration is open and tickets are on sale.

New this year are:

• a dedicated fiber studio and fiber exhibition from Brooklyn Tweed, Portland, Ore., with fibers from more than 75 sheep breeds.

• fabrics from around the world exhibition, featuring fabrics from more than 50 countries.

• the 25 Million Stitches Project, a global awareness raising campaign started in Sacramento, Calif., and representing 25 million displaced refugees. The project will culminate in a public art installation June 5 through Aug. 15 at Sacramento’s Verge Center for the Arts.

The PGH Handmade Heart Making initiative will continue in the maker space. More than 5,500 hearts have been distributed since the Oct. 27, 2018, shooting at Tree of Life synagogue in Squirrel Hill.
