The Pittsburgh Creative Arts Festival will return March 20-22 to the DoubleTree by Hilton in Green Tree.

Hours are 11 a.m.-6 p.m. March 20, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. March 21 and 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. March 22 in the hotel at 500 Mansfield Ave.

The festival offers classes, exhibitions, a creative open studio and a maker space. Those attending also can try new techniques, see demonstrations and shop the marketplace.

This year’s festival includes a display of two special 9/11 quilt exhibitions.

Carol Mesimer’s quilt, titled “Remember Me,” has been featured in many locations, according to a release. This Pittsburgh stop will be its last before moving on to the National 911 Memorial & Museum in New York City as part of its permanent exhibition.

The quilt is dedicated to and includes the names of each person who died during the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the release adds.

“Fallen Hearts” is the creation of Linda Pepper, who was working in a school above which United Airlines Flight 93 flew prior to crashing in Somerset County, according to the release. Pepper will be on hand to meet with visitors from noon-1 p.m. Saturday in the maker space.

Another exhibition is “Fabrics From Around the World,” featuring fabrics from more than 50 countries.

Those attending also can participate in the 25 Million Stitch Project, a global effort to raise awareness for the 25 million people around the world who have become refugees. Fabrics, thread and needles are provided to take part in the awareness raising campaign, led by a Turkish women refugee group, Kardalan Fiber Art Group.

Advance tickets are $10 for one day, $15 for two days, $25 for three days.

Tickets at the door are $15, $20 and $30, respectively.
