Touchstone Center for Crafts will hold an open house from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. June 2 at its Farmington, Fayette County, site.

The free event will introduce visitors to the professional studios. Artists and organizations from throughout the Laurel Highlands and the greater Pittsburgh area also will participate.

Planned are artist demonstrations, hands-on activities, pop-up shops and gallery exhibitions. Visitors can participate in a drum circle, enjoy kids’ craft activities and take nature walks with Powdermill Nature Reserve representatives. Demonstrations are planned by Rivers of Steel Arts, friends of Touchstone and summer artist interns.

Two new gallery exhibitions, featuring work from members of Associated Artists of Pittsburgh and Touchstone’s 2019 workshop instructors, will be open.

Artists and members of Allegheny Metals Club, Contemporary Craft, Uniontown Art Club and the Phoenix Arts Center will discuss their crafts. Representatives from Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater and the Laurel Highlands Visitors Bureau are also expected to attend.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase from Boy Scout Troop 620 of Uniontown, Ash & Kris Kitchen, Sullivan Brothers Coffee Co. and Christian W. Klay Winery.

The event is scheduled rain or shine, with many indoor activities. Visitors should park at Christian W. Klay Winery, 412 Fayette Springs Road and ride the free shuttle bus to campus. Touchstone will be limited to handicapped parking only.
