You Are Here hosts contemporary printmaking exhibition
A showcase of works on paper demonstrating a variety of contemporary printmaking techniques is the focus of “Printed Matter,” the new exhibition at Jeannette gallery You Are Here.
The various works reflect the participating artists’ individual style, according to a gallery statement.
Curated by Dan Overdorff, the exhibition’s artists are Allison Blair, Gary Henzler, Tressa Jones, Tom Norulak, Marc Snyder, Jacob Meager, Joseph Lupo, Eddie Maier and Sara Jordon.
Editions of exhibited works will be available for sale.
Works by photographer Richard Stoner will be featured in the site’s Gallery Veronica.
An opening reception is planned at 6 p.m. March 14 at the gallery, 406 Clay Ave.
The exhibition will run until April 28 during regular hours, noon-6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and noon-3 p.m. Sunday.
As an exhibition accompaniment, artist Tressa Jones will present a silkscreen printing demonstration and small, handmade screens workshop from 1-3 p.m. on April 4.
Participants will work with a resist to create hand-drawn designs that can be printed again and again using the silkscreen process. They will learn how to create a silkscreen set-up at home to print on clothing, other apparel and paper. Participants should wear studio work clothes and bring shirts or totes to print on.
The $20 fee includes all supplies.
