Legendary comedians Steve Martin and Martin Short will bring their “The Dukes of Funnytown!” tour to Pittsburgh this year.
Shows are scheduled for Nov. 21 and 22 at the Benedum Center in Downtown Pittsburgh. The show will also feature jazz pianist Steve Babko and bluegrass band The Steep Canyon Rangers.
Martin and Short have been longtime friends and collaborators since they first appeared together in 1986’s “Three Amigos!” The pair of funny men had a recent resurgence in popularity with their much-lauded comedy series “Only Murders in the Building,” which premiered on Hulu in 2021 and has run for four seasons.
The duo have toured together previously — starting in 2015 with their show “A Very Stupid Conversation” — and released a special on Netflix in 2018 titled “An Evening You Will Forget for the Rest of Your Life.” It was nominated for four Emmy Awards.
Individually, Martin and Short have each had careers spanning more than half a century. Martin became a highly popular stand-up comedian in the 1970s and starred in films including “Father of the Bride,” “The Jerk,” “Planes, Trains and Automobiles” and “Cheaper by the Dozen.”
Short was a star of “SCTV” and “Saturday Night Live” in the 1980s. He appeared in films including “Innerspace,” “Mars Attacks!” and “Father of the Bride.” He’s also known for the character Jiminy Glick, a parody of a celebrity interviewer, who he has portrayed in numerous media.
“The Dukes of Funnytown!” promises to be a romp filled with quick-fire jokes and self-deprecating humor.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at trustarts.org.
