The popular zombie apocalyptic thriller “The Walking Dead” has had to delay production due to the coronavirus.

AMC, which produces the show, announced the news on Twitter on Tuesday.

“Current events have unfortunately made it impossible to complete post-production of ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 10 finale, so the current season will end with its 15th episode on April 5,” AMC tweeted. “The planned finale will appear as a special episode later in the year.”

The show, which is in its 10th season, has become a fan favorite. It follows a group of human survivors trying to make their way through a zombie apocalypse.

Displeased fans made their feelings known on Twitter.

A couple fans made sure to tell the cast and crew to stay safe amid the ongoing pandemic.

The first eight episodes of the latest season will be available for free following the airing of the April 5 episode on the company’s website and app. Those episodes will be free through May 1.
