“Jeopardy!” host Ken Jennings with Pittsburgh Margaret Shelton during the upcoming “Jeopardy!” tournament of champions.

In this episode of the “Pittsburgh Pop” podcast, host Tim Benz and TV Talk columnist Rob Owen discuss Pittsburgh pop culture news of the moment, including Pittsburgher Margaret Shelton, who won almost $80,000 over four “Jeopardy!” episodes in March, and will return to the game show next week for a tournament of champions that begins Oct. 31 at 7:30 p.m. on WPXI-TV.

Shelton, who lives in Pittsburgh’s East End, will appear in a quarter-finals matchup Nov. 2 against a five- and a seven-game champion.

If Shelton makes it past that round, she’ll face off against one of three “Jeopardy!” “super-champions” who enter the competition in the semi-final round: Amy Schneider (winner of 40 games), Matt Amodio (38 games) or Mattea Roach (23 games).

Semi-finals are scheduled to air the week of Nov. 9 with finals the week of Nov. 14.

Owen and Benz discuss the trailer for “A Man Called Otto,” the Tom Hanks movie that filmed in Pittsburgh that looks to be “As Good As It Gets” redux.

Owen previews HBO’s “A Tree of Life” documentary (9 p.m. Wednesday), about the 2018 shooting at a Squirrel Hill synagogue, a Pittsburgh bartender on Netflix’s “Drink Masters,” streaming Friday, and WQED-TV’s latest Tamburitzans special debuting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

And the pair discuss the first-season finale of HBO’s “House of the Dragon.”
