MARVEL
“Black Widow” starring Scarlett Johansson arrives in theaters on May 1, 2020.

The first trailer for the long-awaited stand-alone “Black Widow” movie unexpectedly hit the internet Tuesday.

“I used to have nothing,” the title character, played by Scarlett Johansson, says in the trailer, “then I got this job, this family, but nothing lasts forever.”

“Black Widow” will be the first Marvel movie since “Avengers: Endgame,” which had closed the chapter on much of the Marvel Cinematic Universe thus far.

This stand-alone spinoff flashes back to the events following “Captain America: Civil War.” And although it’s a stand-alone film it does kick off Phase 4 of the MCU. (Also don’t worry about what happened in “Endgame.”)

“I’m done running from my past,” Johansson’s character, Natasha Romanoff, says as she returns to her home country Russia. The trailer includes scenes from a fight with her “sis,” Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), who asks, “What brings you home?”

The trailer also features Russian super-soldier Alexei Shostakov, Red Guardian (David Harbour) and Melina Vostokoff, the Iron Maiden, (Rachel Weisz), who fill out the super spy’s “family.”

“Black Widow” is directed by Cate Shortland and arrives in theaters on May 1, 2020.
