Special effects legend Tom Savini sported a protective mask that Jason Voorhees would be proud of on social media last week. The response was so overwhelming that it’s now for sale to the public.

Savini’s protective face gear was clearly inspired by the hockey mask worn by the villain of the “Friday the 13th” movie franchise.

Praise for the mask came in from all the world, including pro wrestler Jerry Lawler.

Known for his special makeup effects in movies such as “Friday the 13th” and “Dawn of the Dead,” the Pittsburgh native runs the Tom Savini Special Make-Up Effects program in Monessen.

To order the mask, contact special makeup effects artist Jason Baker via his Twitter account here.
