TV Talk: Meteorologist Falicia Woody exits KDKA-TV
And then there were four.
KDKA-TV is now back to four meteorologists after the departure of the station’s fifth meteorologist, Falicia Woody.
Woody posted to her social media pages, writing, “Dear yinz, I am writing this with great sadness. As of last week, I am no longer working for Paramount-CBS. I greatly appreciate all the amazing opportunities and memories I made the last two years at KDKA. I met and worked with some of the greatest and most kind-hearted people that I can call friends. I also inspired the next generation into becoming meteorologists and used my voice and platform to inform y’all of the weather, raise mental health awareness, & promote the AAPI community. I also became the most confident and strongest version of myself that I have ever seen even though I faced some of my life’s most difficult challenges. I believe everything happens for a reason. Now I am taking the time to enjoy a lot of little things in life I feel like I’ve missed out on. This chapter has ended, but I anxiously await for the next one. Stay tuned to what comes next.”
Woody joined KDKA-TV in February 2022. Given the timing, it’s possible she had a two-year contract and her contract was not renewed.
Prior to KDKA, Woody worked at WKBN-TV in Youngstown, Ohio.
