TV Talk: Netflix’s filmed-in-Pittsburgh ‘The Chair’ releases trailer
The trailer for Netflix’s filmed-in-Pittsburgh “The Chair,” which premieres on the streaming service Aug. 20, introduces Sandra Oh’s Pembroke University English department leader and some of the challenges she faces, including her relationship with another professor (Jay Duplass) who’s gotten himself into a “serious reputational matter” (what he did is not spelled out in the trailer).
The trailer includes an expletive (you can view the trailer here) and shows off some of the series’ filming locations, including the campus of Washington & Jefferson College, Beaver Street in Sewickley and a parking lot at Pittsburgh International Airport.
The trailer is set to a new song by The Linda Lindas, “Oh!”
Netflix’s scripted comedy “The Chair” is not to be confused with the 2014 Starz moviemaking competition series of the same name that also filmed in Pittsburgh.
