WTAE-TV has hired a new weekend sports anchor. Emily Giangreco, currently at KVUE-TV in Austin, Texas, tweeted that she’ll join Channel 4, with her last day on-air in Texas set for this weekend.
A Washington, D.C., native who studied broadcast journalism and communications at West Virginia University, Giangreco got her start at the CBS affiliate in Lafayette, La., before moving to Texas in 2019.
Giangreco’s first day at WTAE will be July 6. She’ll anchor weekend sports and report during the week.
Giangreco takes the spot vacated when Guy Junker retired earlier this year.

Disney+ ordered a fourth season of “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series,” executive produced by former Pittsburgher Tim Federle, in advance of the show’s July 27 third-season premiere.
PBS’s “Masterpiece” series “Endeavour,” which returns for its eighth season June 19, will conclude with its ninth season, which is now filming.
Disney+ is developing a new “Daredevil” series.

Aidy Bryant, Pete Davidson, Kate McKinnon and Kyle Mooney have all exited NBC’s “Saturday Night Live.” … More Julia Child content coming to TV with the CNN premiere of the documentary “Julia” (8 and 10 p.m. May 30). ….
