Which romantic comedy is most popular in Pennsylvania?
One way to avoid the crowded restaurants on Valentine’s Day is to stay home, cook a meal, add a little champagne and a romantic movie.
The folks at Comparitech dug into some Google Trends data and found the rom-coms that are most popular in each state.
Pennsylvania’s favorite is “Silver Linings Playbook,” shot in Philadelphia Jennifer Lawrence earned a best actress Academy Award for her role as Tiffany, a woman who pledges to help a struggling Pat Solatano (Bradley Cooper) reunite with his wife. The movie is adapted from Matthew Quick’s novel of the same name. Pittsburghers will need to endure a subplot involving the Philadelphia Eagles.
New Jersey, adjacent to Philly, is the only other state that loves “Silver Linings Playbook.”
Our neighbors in Ohio like to watch “The 40-Year-Old Virgin,” while West Virginians prefer “Pretty In Pink.”
